ePad Wood, eGyro, eJoystick…, and much more! – Agustí Charles
MIXTUR 2021
Program
AD-HOC ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTS DIY (COMPOSITION, CONSTRUCTION, INTERACTION AND SPATIALIZATION WITH ARDUINO TECHNOLOGY).
The access to technologies, with their cheapening and the opening up to new possibilities offers composers new fields of action in which until recently it was necessary a whole team of engineers, technicians, etc., to carry out it. The creation of custom interfaces, suited to a specific musical purpose, is thus a reality that is in our hands, as an extension of the composition itself. We no longer create only music, without the means with which to reproduce, interact or improvise with it.
ePad Wood, eJoystick and eGyro, eMix-Expander are custom sound interfaces that implement the Arduino architecture in its different versions. They are instruments that we could all build from a musical idea and its formulation. ePad Wood is also a percussion instrument made entirely of wood, which implements 4 simultaneous interfaces for up to 4 performers. eJoystick and eGyro use a Wireless MIDI-OSC system with multiple applications…
A world of music customization at our fingertips…
