Festival Mixtur, new sound creation festival of Barcelona, in collaboration with Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, is doing an open call to enroll in the Workshop for Performers Mixtur 2022.

Addressee

The Workshop for Performers Mixtur 2022 is aimed at students as well as professional performers, with no age or nationality limit, with interest in the interpretation of current repertoire.

General Programme

The workshop will take place from October 6 to October 9 and will include the following activities:

One individual class.
One Master class from each instrument open to all the workshops students.
Students will work:
- A work of free choice of the contemporary repertoire (can be from one of the teachers of the composition workshop).
- A miniature piece by a Composition Workshop Student.
- The Percussion Workshop will focus on the work of Iannis Xenakis’ Persephassa.
Participate in the final workshop concert, that is part of the official programme Festival Mixtur 2022, with the pieces worked during the workshop.
Master class given by Composition and Sound Experimentation Workshop professors Michael Beil, Edith Canat de Chizy and Misato Mochizuki.
Besides participating in the workshop, enrollment also includes free access to some of the festival activities.

ENROLMENT

The enrolment deadline is March 31 2022. The workshop has 5 places available for players. To register please fill in the application form and also attach:

A short biography.
Two video in which candidates play two pieces from contemporary repertoire.

The final results will be announced throughout May.

Price: 160€

General Conditions

There is no limit of age, nationality or place of residency.
All URL for downloading materials must link to PDF, MP3 or MP4 files. YouTube, Soundcloud, Vimeo or other permanent links will also be accepted. Links with expiry dates (WeTransfer, Yousendit, etc.), as well as files bigger than 20 MB, won’t be accepted.
If the URL indicated in the form is incorrect or does not work, the organization will not contact the concerned artists asking them to correct it. Once the call is closed, the organization will ask the selected artists to send their works in high resolution.
Participation in this call implies the acceptance of these terms and conditions.
