Fernando Fiszbein is a composer, a guitarrist, a bandoneonist and the conductor of Ensemble Carabanchel. His compositions have received 11 awards and have been played by orchestras as CNSMDP, OLC, Lamoureux, Estrasburg Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as different ensembles such as Aleph, Almaviva, Alternance, Aton, Le Balcon, Court-Circuit, Dédalo, Diotima quartet, Divertimento, L’Instant Donné, the Ensemble Intercontemporain soloists, KDM, Multilatérale, MDI, SMASH, Uruboros, and the  Arditti, Multilatérale, Untref and Voce quartets. He has composed the music of the films by Agnès Jaoui: Place Publique and Au bout du conte. His first opera Avenida de los Incas 3518 was premiered by Le Balcon ensemble and conducted by Maxime Pascal in 2015 at the Théâtre de l’Athénée in Paris. His second opera Cosmos was performed at Théâtre de la Renaissance within the framework of B!ME (Lyon) and  also at Théâtre de l’Atelier in París with Ensemble Carabanchel. His third opera L’homme qui aimait les chiens, will be premiered in January 2026 atThéâtre de Caen with Court-Circuit ensemble conducted by Jean Deroyer. During 2025-2026, Fernando Fiszbein will be awarded a scholarship by Casa de Velázquez.
