The Mixtur Festival has a great commitment to promoting new sound creation. In each edition, the Mixtur selects some of the participants of the Composition and Sound Experimentation Workshop to compose and premiere small works -Miniatures- that they work with the teachers of the workshop and with the performers who will premiere them during the festival.
Majorcan clarinetist Víctor de la Rosa will be in charge of premiering six miniatures of six composers who have participated in the Mixtur 2024 Sound Composition and Experimentation Workshop.
Biography
Committed to contemporary music, Víctor de la Rosa has premiered more than 50 works by composers from around the world, playing at festivals such as the Sampler Series, the Geneva Archipel, Huddersfield Festival, Lucerne Festival, Éclat de Stuttgart, the ENSEMS or the VANG. In 2014 he replaced acclaimed bass clarinetist Harry Sparnaay in Gerard Pape’s opera “Why Poets” in the role of soloist alongside Nicholas Isherwood and John Kenny. Likewise, he is a founding member of the CrossingLines ensemble. As a soloist he has played with the OBC, OCM and the One Tree Hill Sinfonia. Since 2014 he has been a clarinet professor at the Superior Conservatory of the Balearic Islands.
