This conference is devoted to the writing of musical projects integrating gestures, staging, lights and visual devices (film, real-time video, stenographic images, etc.). In 1999/2000, one of my first commissions was devoted to the creation of an electroacoustic work to accompany the film “The Strike” (1924) by S. M. Eisenstein. This first experience of collision between the visual and sound medium will play a major role in the development of my aesthetic. Deeply touching on the question of representation, the integration of visual mediums, considered from multiple angles, is today at the heart of my compositional practice.

Biography

Pierre Jodlowski is a composer, sound artist, improviser and performer in the field of contemporary music, electroacoustic, jazz and rock scenes. His work is at the crossroads of those genres and leads him to collaborate with different artists, musicians, dansers, stage managers and video artists. His projects are performed in Europe and all around the world in the contemporary art network. He is currently living in both France and Poland.
