Biography
The Decoder Ensemble, founded in 2011 in Hamburg, is an innovative band for contemporary music. This six-member group, consisting of electronic and acoustic instruments, stands out from traditional chamber music with its energetic, distinctive sound. They blend instrumental music, multimedia, staging, and physical performance, constantly exploring new forms of expression beyond genre boundaries. Decoder regularly performs at Germany and international festivals, and since 2017, they are the Ensemble in Residence for the “Unterdeck” concert series at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. They have released two CDs on Wergo and Ahornfelder and are featured in the ULYSSES Network project for 2022-2024.
