Biography
Alexander Schubert (1979) studied bioinformatics and multimedia composition and is a professor at Musikhochschule Hamburg. Through music composition, immersive installations, and staged pieces, he explores the border between the acoustic and electronic world, digital and analogue. His work questions perception and representation, focusing on authenticity, virtuality, and the influence of digital media from a post-digital perspective. Recent topics include virtual reality, AI, and online-mediated artworks. Schubert is a founding member of ensembles like “Decoder,” with his works performed over 700 times in 30+ countries.
