information
The exploration of the instrument at a microscopic level opens the doors to its use as a model and as a generator of sound entities capable of suggesting different syntactic levels. From them, a dialectic opens up between technique and narrative that can be the impetus for compositional praxis.
Biography
Alberto Posadas, a student of Francisco Guerrero, explores in his work the relationship between music and nature, mathematics and other artistic disciplines. He developed “generative microinstrumentation” to obtain musical material from microscopic resources of instruments. He won the audience award at Ars Musica (Brussels, 2002) and the Spanish National Music Award (2011). He has been composer in residence at Ircam on several occasions, at the Internationales Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia in Bamberg (2014) and at the Wissenschaftskolleg in Berlin (2016/17).
