Michael Beil studied piano and music theory at the Hochschule für Musik Stuttgart and composition with Manuel Hidalgo. His work focuses on combining electronics, instrumental music and video. Beil has been professor at music conservatories in Kreuzberg, Neukölln in Berlin and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. Additionally, he has been the Klangwerkstatt festival director and also founded the ensemble Skart with Stephan Winkler. He collaborated with contemporary music festivals like Ultraschall, and his music has been broadcasted several times on radio.
