Wednesdays of sound and body is the Santa Mònica’s programme dedicated to experimental proposals that explore the intersections between music and the human body with free and regular sessions every Wednesday at 7pm in the Sala Bar.
Sound and Body Wednesdays is a meeting place for audiences, creators, programmers, dilettantes and curious people eager to enjoy a programme of sound experimentation, improvised music, voice, dance and small-format performance in a relaxed and close environment such as the Sala Bar.
This programme and the production of each session are curated by different external and internal groups from Santa Mònica who are periodically invited. Through all these voices, a unique choral work space is created in the constant construction of collective meanings. The different artistic proposals show the diversity and plurality of views of experimental musical and stage creation.

17.12 / 19h: Gastrònoma matèrica, Àlex Rigol
Gastrònoma matèrica is a sound and stage experience that invites us to listen to the body from the inside. The artist Àlex Rigol investigates the hidden sounds of the body – such as swallowing, intestinal vibrations or guttural sounds – and transforms them using a granular synthesiser and a steel instrument.
In an intimate and ritualistic space, a single performer activates sound textures that connect the human body with metallic matter. A unique and immersive proposal that invites us to listen to what is usually silenced.
