CATEGORY 1: PIECES COMMISSIONS 

This category includes two different modalities:

• Modality 1A

Instrumental works with or without electronics or video for any instrumental ensemble. A selection will be made from the works submitted of up to two composers and new works will be commissioned to be premiered within Festival Mixtur. The instrumentation of the commissioned works shall be agreed with the composers once the selection process is finished.C

• Modality 1B

Electroacoustic, audiovisual works or sound installations.A selection will be made from the works submitted of up to two composers or video artists and new works will be commissioned to be premiered within Festival Mixtur.

CATEGORY 2: SOLOISTS, INSTRUMENTAL AND INTERDISCIPLINARY ENSEMBLES

Open to musicians and artists that have a life performance proposal; soloists or ensembles, players or improvisers, performers or artists rom other disciplines. Selected artists will be invited to perform in the festival.

Depending on the modality, a document stating repertory worked, projects, an explanation of the project developed or performances undertaken in the last few years must be submitted. Besides three recent (audio or video) recordings.

This category includes five different modalities:

• Modality 2A

Soloists or ensembles specialized in contemporary music.

The programme will be jointly developed by the selected artists and Mixtur.

• Modality 2B

Soloists or ensembles specialized in free improvisation.

• Modality 2C

Soloists or Interdisciplinary Artists (music+dance, video, performance, etc.)

• Modality 2D

Sound Installations with the possibility of including performance.

• Modality 2E

Performances meant for children in which sound exploration plays a key role. Children actively involved in the activity will be a particularly valuable asset.
