Love & Diversity from 2012 is a typical piece by Tsangaris, in which both the spatio-temporal configuration of the performance event and the consciously designed encounter between performers and audience are essential components of the composition and unfold an exciting theater of perception. In this instrumental theater, in which the instrumentalists also show their performing skills, the composed dates become installative mini-dramas and unfold a series of touching loneliness scenarios that playfully express the desire for togetherness.

Bio

Born in Düsseldorf in 1956, Manos Tsangaris is a composer, drummer and installation artist.  One of the most important international representatives of New Music Theater.  Since the 1970s, he has been researching the conditions of performance as an essential subject of composition.  In 2009, Tsangaris was appointed Professor of Composition at the University of Music Dresden. From 2016 to 2024, Tsangaris was Artistic Director of the Munich Biennale together with Daniel Ott. He has received numerous honors and awards. Manos Tsangaris was elected President of the Akademie der Künste Berlin 2024.

Anna López Cañellas is an actress, pedagogue and stage creator with an intense and diverse career. She has been educated in Barcelona and London, she specialised in clown, theatre pedagogy and social action and has performed in Spain, England, Scotland and Belgium. For 16 years she has inspired children and young people through theatre and currently she is leading the artistic department in an inclusive state school. She co-founded LabOriosa which transforms memories and true facts in life stage pieces combining creation, research and community projects in Fabra i Coats.
