Vitaliy Kyianytsia (born in 1991) is a young Ukrainian composer and pianist. He has been born in the city of Kiev, started his musical education at the age of 6. Vitaliy is a postgraduate of Tchaikovsky National Musical Academy of Ukraine as a composer and pianist. He has received awards of several prestigious international competitions such as 2016 Orleans Piano Competition, Transatlantyk Instant Composition Contest (Poland), 2016 Masterpiece Management Competition (Germany), Karl Filtch International Piano Competition (Romania), etc. Vitaliy is a permanent participant of major events of contemporary music, such as Lucerne Festival Academy 2016, Impuls-2015 (Graz), Klangspuren Schwaz 2014, etc. Vitaliy's repertoire is wide and included masterpieces of contemporary music of 20-th century (Messiaen, Murail, Sciarrino, Nono, Boulez, Stockhausen, Silvestrov, Isang Yun, Ferneyhough), pieces of 21 century (Andre, Furrer, Dusapin, Kokoras, Unsuk Chin) and pieces of young Ukrainian and European authors. Also he is working in free-jazz and experimental jazz music, doing solo, with ensembles and with Ukrainian Improvisational Orchestra a lot of projects in Ukraine. His music performed in Poland, Italy, Lithuania, Germany, Romania, Russia, France, South Korea at the famous festivals and concert halls. He is one of the founders of Sed Contra Ensemble (Kyiv), being its pianist as well.
British violist Paul Beckett continues to gain international recognition as a leading interpreter and performer of classical contemporary music.Paul was the selected violist of the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt 2015-2016. He is a chosen artist for the Bauhaus Residence in Dessau. He regularly collaborates with Ensemble Modern, including European premieres of Steve Reich’s Runner in Paris, Amsterdam and Köln, and working alongside composers Georges Aperghis and Helmut Lachenmann.
He performed with IEMA at the Wittener Tage fur Neue Kammermusik, Newcomer concert and featured as a soloist in Hannes Kerschbaumer’s Kritzung on WDR 3. This performance led to a recording at WDR Köln for the upcoming Wittener Festival CD production. In April 2017, Paul is an invited soloist performing with pianist Vitaliy Kyianytsia at Two Days and Two Nights festival in Odessa, Ukraine. In addition to his work with Ensemble Modern, Paul has performed with Ensemble Interface, Sed Contra, Garth Knox and Megumi Kasakawa. In 2015, Paul gave the Ukranian premiere of Ligeti Viola Sonata as well as giving lectures and masterclasses to the string department at the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music, Kiev.
Pauls studied with Mark Knight and Garth Knox, he attended Chethams School of Music, Royal Northern College of Music and Frankfurt Hochschule for music.
